Default 1/2 NL live - AK with TPTK on a flush board.

Villain is a very loose calling station. He will call big raises preflop with almost any two, and likes to chase. He will call you down (even all-ins) with top pair, and sometimes middle pair if he puts you on a bluff. He often bluffs on the river.

Pre-flop and flop are pretty standard. I'm wondering if I turn check is good, and what to do when he bets big on the river.

1/2 NL live game - 7 handed.

Hero is MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

1 limp, villain limps, Hero raises to $10, folded to villain who calls.

Flop($25): K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Villain checks, hero bets $20, villain calls.

Turn($65): 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Villain checks, hero checks.

River($65): 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Villain takes a long time to think and then bets $55, hero???

You don't think that's risky when so many draws are hitting?

Btw. I forgot to mention that this is never a worse hand betting for value. He's not that type of monkey. He's either bluffing or has me beat.

i would fold river, and also bet turn for value vs this calling station

when the calling station bets pot on river you should know you are beat

I bet the turn again to charge lone clubs and get value from worse kings.

According the the read, the villain has the tendency to bluff rivers and we haven't show a whole lot of aggression here. So, I think the big river bet is a bluff/worse king enough to call.

How about when a loose/aggressive calling station / bluffer bets pot on river?

Ok, loose calling station bluffer. Anyways, he bluffs a lot. Just during this session he ad already been caught once, and showed me his cards when he bluff-raised another player once. And I've played with him before.

I'm not really sure WHAT to do on the river, that's why I hate your turn check. I don't like to give up the lead here, especially agains a player that could have any 2.

If I get check-raised on the turn, I dump. If not, expect him to check to you on the river and check behind.

I have played a lot more limit, swithced to nl in the fall, so I"m no expert. This is just the way I see it. I hate being in your position on the river ( & I have put myself there before ) Hard not to call when you could have easily just induced a bluff against a player you say likes to bluff the river a lot. Getting roughly 2-1 I have to call here.
