Optimal Strategy?
A local casino offers a promotion once a week -- Aces Cracked automatically wins $100. The only game they spread is 4-8 Hold'em.
Details: the came is very loose -- probably 5 people on average take the flop, more often than not for a raise. The game is kind of "weak loose" in that oftentimes you'll see 4-5 people will go to the river and the bettor will bet for a final time on the end and everyone will fold. There is rarely, if ever, not a river card dealt. (That is, someone will always chase to the river - I can't remember a hand ending with a flop or turn bet where everyone mucks unless it's heads up preflop and it's two buddies or something.) There hasn't been a chop in 3 years. What is the optimal strategy for this game? Does the texture of the game that I described above matter much? |

Re: Optimal Strategy?
Sounds like I'd play multi-way pot hands and try to isolate loose players when I'm holding big hands. With A-A I'd always slowplay unless flopping a huge hand.

Re: Optimal Strategy?
Okay, perhaps I wasn't clear enough...the question I have is this:
What is the optimal strategy WHEN YOU HAVE ACES? ie. should you limp and never bet so as to try to let your opponents suck out OR should you jam jam jam knowing that you get $100 bucks if you lose? Keep in mind, in big pots you can make more than $100 occasionally. |
