What in the world is up with all of these posts lately where the OPs think they have a great read and fold sets postflop.

LOL

Sorry read AbreuTime's post wrong the first time, but I call here 100% of the time unless I know re-raiser is full of BS. Then, I re-pop his him.

Your logic is backwards. If you know the raiser is bluffing, it is then that you should call every time. How could you possibly reason this way? Am I misunderstanding your post?

[/ QUOTE ]

Ok, you can look at it that way, too. But, JJ isn't going to stand up to his bluff the everytime. I think if you re-raise him PF when you think he's bluffing, you'll take it down PF most of the time, it not you'll probably still have the best hand and win a bigger pot rather then just giving him control of the pot.

Or, it sounds like you want to slow play this bluffer. This gives him a way better chance to suckout on your single pair of jacks. I'd play this aggressively, and only let him bet it if I spike a jack on the flop.

Sorry, I did misunderstand the post. My contention was considering flop play after the OP had made a set on an uncoordinated flop.

In fact, I completely agree that a reraise is in order if you feel confident that the raiser is trying to steal.

A good read isn't characterized by its punctual correctness, but rather by the odds that it is correct.
The odds of this particular read being good aren't attractive.

Whatever. Not even gonna comment on the hand. This is fun, though.

I haven't ever seen the fish TAG show much aggression pre- and postflop before

.... When you are playing against weak, passive players, who will hand you the pot on every flop they miss or hit only 2nd set on, ... I couldn't imagine ... the rest of the hand

or ever being a good poker player.

Seriously, part of the learning is knowing when to trust your read. If you can often put villains on exactly one hand then you will make more $$ from them than you will save by great folds.

I think this was a crazy spot to fold the second nuts on the flop. If you are 75% sure, then at least call the flop. Cruise around this forum to find how sets are generally treated in 6-max online situations. If you still don't believe it, read Harringtons books on NL tourneys... he has comments about how to read set over set. Even the best can't do it, so don't bother trying to get better at it.

FWIW, This action is almost always AA...but I raise here. If he 3bets, you can fold. Yes, I [censored] said it. These [censored] only EVER have AA if they 3bet the flop here.
