$11 ITM call with SS close to busting
Seat 5 is the button.
Seat 5: Hero (4346 in chips) Seat 6: Davebhoy (4556 in chips) Seat 7: Mic121120 (1098 in chips) Davebhoy: posts small blind 300 Mic121120: posts big blind 600 ----- HOLE CARDS ----- dealt to Hero [K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] Hero raises to 1200 Davebhoy: raises to 4556 and is all-in Mic121120: folds Hero calls 3146 The SS in the BB has folded, leaving himself with 500 chips left. We are almost assured of second, but we have a strong hand 3 way. I called because I thought there are only 2 hands im in horrible shape against, and I think hed do this with 77+ and hands down as far as A9 and KT.. (remember this is an $11, I think that is a realistic range) So im behind to 2, flipping with some and dominating others. I dont know exactly how to calculate whether this is positive EV or not, help? Is it close? Easy fold/call? |

Don't be a donkey and push preflop
If you are thinking about folding to the all in than you should actually be thinking about not playing poker |

Don't be a donkey and push preflop If you are thinking about folding to the all in than you should actually be thinking about not playing poker [/ QUOTE ] Kind of a nasty and unnecessary thing to say to someone who only has 7 posts. Perfection, since you're down to 7BBs you should be in push or fold mode. If you raise, you've committed a good portion of your stack anyways, so you're pretty pot-committed. Also, if someone does call and you do hit the flop or AK is good enough unimproved to win, it doesn't allow your opponent to get away from the hand, so you get maximum value. It also keeps you from having to make too many tough decisions. Keep it simple. Keep posting. You'll be surprised how much it will help your game. |

OK, I'll expect some donk heat. But isn't there a discussion on letting the SS bust out on the next hand before Hero risks busting out?

Because SS is so close to busting, the other big stack would need a huge hand to call you with and that will happen a very small percentage of the time. You would really hate to fold here and then have SB also fold. If BB calls, you're a favorite a high percentage of the time and if he folds you pick up a nice pot without a fight. |

Re: $11 ITM call with SS close to busting
its too late to push on them so
go for the win.... call.... next time push you want to see all 5 cards with AK if he has a pocket pair the only reason you would fold this hand is if your bankroll is severely small and you need that extra 10 bucks.... |
