Re: The Other Saddest Moments in Sports
I think different people have different ideas for this thread.
I certainly agree with you and was about as far from sad as you could get at that moment. |

Come on man, you're a steelers fan. This is just trolling. [/ QUOTE ] OK, I appologize. Based on your response and the one above, I guess I misinterpreted the point of the thread. The OP said "the other saddest moments" and had a picture of Leon Lett, the first few responses had Weber's T and Buckner and later there was Norwood. My interpretation of the thread was that it was meant to be about blowups, [censored], in general "sad (as in pathetic) displays" not "things that made you sad" (which has come up several times here). If I were going with the latter, some combination of Big Ben's 3 picks in the 2005 AFC Championship game would be up there as far as football goes. |

Also, this hurt a LOT: [/ QUOTE ] QFT But not the Red Sox one...the second I saw on ESPN the night before that Kevin "I hit the wall and the wall won" Brown was starting...I knew it was over. To this day I still wish Brown had pitched poorly in Minn. I'm sure Torre would have gone to Duke of Hurl on short rest. |

[ QUOTE ]
While I can't find a picture of it, this name should strike fear into the hearts of Giant fans: Trey Junkin. I know I'll never forget that name. I really feel sorry for the guy. [/ QUOTE ] In the past week, I've attempted to start a conversation about the Trey Junkin game twice. Once with my roommate, who's a big sports fan, watches any game of any sport on TV, and generally spends 3/4ths of his time watching TV on ESPN. The other time with my buddy who isn't quite as much of a sports fan, but does watch football every weekend, and is a big Giants fan Neither of them remembered the game. They didn't remember the 49ers comeback, they didn't remember the botched snap, they didn't remember the non-PI call downfield or the controversy that followed it. I remember it like it was yesterday. Maybe I need to stop taking so much glee in the suffering of New York sports fans, or maybe I just need to find new friends |

[ QUOTE ] I hate UK, but I figure these are all sad moments for them, and why not take this opportunity to rub a little salt in the wounds: ...in chronological order... Shame 2.1 seconds The Downfall of the Program [/ QUOTE ] How honorable to kick a man while he's down This is why I [censored] hate everyone not from my state [/ QUOTE ] What? If you're talking about Kentucky, those idiots have been calling for Tubby's dismissal for years. He has had the least fan support of any exceptional coach I can imagine. |

Not the saddest, but up there This Followed by this [/ QUOTE ] The last 10 minutes of the third period, and the OT, is probably the best hockey I've ever seen. [censored] you, JR [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] [ QUOTE ] Also can't find YouTube clip of this, but game 6 against the Hurricanes Leafs score with like 30 seconds left to send it to overtime and lose in overtime.
