[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] fold, looks like AK/KK/AA. I dont see anything that plays this way that doesnt have you dead/almost dead. [/ QUOTE ] Dont you think with such a small lead and another player left to act behind that villian would raise any of the above hands on the flop? [/ QUOTE ]Villians love to slowplay [/ QUOTE ] Thats true but if this is the case dont you think he would bet a little less on the turn? [/ QUOTE ] I called turn because the lines looked like this to me: pf-villian slowplay flop-hero weak lead/villian slowplay turn-hero weak check/villian pushes w/ psb Villians line didnt seem congruent w/ how donks play AA KK or Ak here.. usually they would still try to string me along on the turn considering I was showing weakness Anyways I called villian showed AQ and MHIG |

please please please check flop. you got very lucky that he was bluffing. your hand only beat a bluff, and you had no reason to assume that's what he had.
edit: i think i'd probably fold preflop. |

Erm, preflop?
Whatever about the open raise, the call of the rr is just asking to end up in exactly the tough spot OP ends up in post flop. I limp this UTG a lot (fold to any raise), but this might just explain my location. |

You should not be calling this if you are going broke on a Kxx or Qxx board however. |

Re: just calling pf, I'd call with no intention whatsoever of stacking off w/TP. That's the problem with raising. We are OOP with an easily dominated hand and will only get worthwhile action from hands that beat us. I'm not sure how being a great postflop player can get you out of that situation often enough to be profitable. Basically, we need to hit the flp hard or we are down to (semi-)bluffing oop in a rr pot. I just think that's an ugly spot to get yourself into. |

calling preflop is very iffy in my opinion. you can't even be comfortable if the flop is KQx. [/ QUOTE ] There are only 2 exact combinations of cards that have you beaten on this flop (I'm discounting the x here). I'm plenty happy with a KQx board. |

I'm with tannenj on the preflop call. Most villians dont reraise light, so youre dominated by his range. Need an example?? This is it. Hero got lucky, imo. -EV call, both times.
