Free time is a very important quality for a mod, Donkey is online day in-day out playing professionally so he can be here in the event of a problem rather quickly. With the addition of all these TDL posts this forum might finally need a dedicated mod like most of the others have. -DeathDonkey [/ QUOTE ] I was just thinking this. And about the berating debate, the general answer is of course 'don't do it' and be as nice as possible to keep a fish around, but there are some interesting and legitamate exceptions. Different people react differently (assuming 'berating' doesn't include 'schooling'). Some players will go on tilt if you berate them, or get upset and play back at you poorly. Sometimes berating the table will make you look like the fish, with positive results. In general we all agree, but is presumptious to assume somebody who is berating is an oblivious fool that will hurt your game. Perhaps it is calculated and is helping his, whereby it might be even unethical to attempt to have chat banned and not have this angle at his disposal. Just some thoughts. |

Re: Could the other 2p2ers at my table, please stop berating the fish.
I don't think it could ever be unethical not to allow players to be rude to other players. But of course this is up to the cardroom in question.
And of course it could be +EV in the short run. But I don't ever think it can be +EV in the long run when recreational players are involved. When it is in a setting where it is just serious players playing each other, I'm not as much against it, even though I am actually still against it. |

It was something my friend and I were just talking about though, how players will play loose and crazy against guys like Hellmuth and Matusow, guys that goad and even outright insult to get other players' egos involved. Playing with ego is obviously a downward spiral. Of course, this is also in a tournament setting as opposed to a cash game, so the dynamic is different. |
