($22) bluff-raise river, blind vs blind
In another thread, OMG OMG MY OPPONENT CALLED ME A [censored] FISH, a bunch of people criticized a line that is vaguely similar to the one below. Villain's bets in this case are more clearly weak, but perhaps people could comment on the differences, or convince me that I too am a wild and crazy playa.
PartyPoker, Big Blind is t15 (10 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com UTG (t785) UTG+1 (t785) MP1 (t800) MP2 (t615) MP3 (t775) CO+1 (t800) CO (t770) Button (t770) SB (t1100) Hero (t800) Preflop: Hero is in BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO+1 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB raises to t55, Hero calls t40 Flop: (t110) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets t55, Hero calls t55 Turn: (t220) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets t55, Hero calls t55 River: (t330) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets t55, Hero raises to t350, SB folds I called preflop, because I didn't want to get pushed at, and I wanted the chance to make a good score if I happened to hit the flop well. As the hand developed, I felt that I had some good bluffing chances since villain is unlikely to read me for AQ, and the river card certainly didn't dissuade me. |

I don't think this is terrible. His betting implies that your raise will be a fairly high percentage win. His betting the same t55 on every street feels like a middle pair or unpaired high cards, and the K on the river is the perfect card for you to represent. However, I'd have probably just raised the flop, because you can bluff there for a lot less chips.

I don't think you are bluffing. You probably have the best hand.

Re: ($22) bluff-raise river, blind vs blind
Hey, if you really think you're a 'wild and crazy playa', do what I would do here. Just push pre-flop.
Like 90% of the time, you know you've got the best hand, he's just trying to push you around with his bigger stack. Thinks he has license to get all loose now. This picks up the pot now, and it may well lead to some walks later. |
