Samuel L. Jackson in Deep Blue Sea after his speech. Didn't see that one coming.

Titanic made a killing on the big screen, and I winced the whole time I watched that film.

The scenes are pretty tame by today's standards, but, when I was a little kid (mid-70s) this station that is now a Fox affiliate used to be an independent, and they would pretty much show anything, within reason.

So, the beginning of Dirty Harry, where Andrew Robinson shoots the swimming woman, and the scene on the Muni bus in The Laughing Policeman. Not good times for a little kid.

Fire extinguisher scene in Irreversible.

Totally. I'm not sure/don't remember if she died, but the rape scene later in the movie surpasses even the fire extinguisher scene by far. I felt sorta weird and guilty when I rented this movie for a bunch of friends late one night and we all watched it and this scene came up.

Even if the girl didn't die in the rape scene, this is easily the worst movie moments of all time, IMO.

Hills Have Eyes and Hostel were cheap exploitation flicks and altough the deaths were gruesome and creative, they were (for some reason) saturday morning cartoons compared to Irreversible's most memorable scenes. Even as time rewinds back to the beginning, its a sad movie.

That reminds me of the biggest rip-off I can remember. When I was a young kid, I, like many other misguided American youth, thought Steven Segal was the biggest badass ever. Not suprisingly, I was very excited when some airplane movie was advertised on TV "starring Steven Segal" in a black stealth. Steven Segal + Jets?? Wow sweet! Then he suddenly falls out and I can't believe that the cheap dummy silently falling through the sky is really him dying 5 minutes into the movie. What a rip. What movie was this? Executive Decision or something?

Two scenes out of Saw, the one where the guy has to get out through the razorwire, and the one where the girl cuts open her boyfriends stomach to get the key.

The one from American history X is definitely up there as well.
