Re: 1/2 JJ - cap pre-flop? How to proceed unimproved?
Hand seems pretty standard to me.

Re: 1/2 JJ - cap pre-flop? How to proceed unimproved?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Getting 35:3 I'm tempted to see the turn because of the size of the pot. Set over set is possible but your read doesn't make me think anyone has KK. Turn fold is easy ui. [/ QUOTE ] Shirley, you can't be serious! You realize that you're FIFTEEN BIG BETS short of the immediate odds you need, and that you'll have to make all that up? The only way you are is if someone has KK. No way do you have odds to peel here. [/ QUOTE ] I said I was tempted, not that it was right! And don't call me Shirley. |

I play the flop the same, but I don't cap preflop. [/ QUOTE ] Do you guys cap QQ here though, same situation? I definitely fold the flop, not even a question. Hell, I'd be hard pressed to call MP1's donkbet. |

Re: 1/2 JJ - cap pre-flop? How to proceed unimproved?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] *grunch from the cheap seats* With a backdoor flush/straight draw, 2 outs to a set and 35 bets in the pool already you need around 8 to 1 to continue and you are getting 11 to 1 to see the turn calling 3 bets. I am pretty sure you want to see the turn here. [/ QUOTE ] OK. A set is worth 1.5 outs due to the flush draw possibility, 2-gap backdoor street is 0.5 outs, backdoor flush is 1 out since it is very likely that someone has A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Also keep in mind that an equally heated action can come on the turn, making backdoor draws expensive. [/ QUOTE ] Assuming you are right and you have 3 outs here with two cards to come that is a 7 to 1 shot with 11 to 1 in the pot its still a call. 14 to 1 with 1 card with implied odds I still take a shot at this level. |

[/ QUOTE ] You don't have implied odds for backdoor draws. And last time I checked 3 outs equaled 1:14. With 1:12 pot odds it's a solid no. |
