havent been able to visit the site for the past 2-3 days.

From a command prompt, type
ping www.youtube.com and post the results. In the meantime, there's always www.xtube.com |

Not sure why you're hiding the numbers, that's kind of the whole point. Is it 208.65.153.241?

sorry for editing out the numbers. thought i was just being cautious by leaving them out. i was misinformed. but yes the numbers listed by troll are correct. 208.65.153.241 any ideas? |

It's fine :-)
The name is resolving to the IP address correctly, so it's not a virus/adware DNS intrusion problem. My best guess now is that there's some software installed on your PC that is blocking youtube.com... Any recent firewall/security stuff installed? |

nah, no recent firewall/security stuff added. i am on a university network. do you think they couldve killed access to youtube? is there anything else i can try to look for that will give me a headsup as to why i cant access the site? |

Open up the HOSTS file (search for 'hosts' and open it with notepad), see if there are any lines in there blocking YouTube. If so, delete them all.
