Re: Back to limit, sanity check plz
[ QUOTE ]
h1 preflop and turn are both bad plays imo. h2 fold preflop 0 percent of the time if you had a better drawing hand like k9s even then its a call. (with button calling two other callers you can bet there are way better drawing hands out there) h3 cap flop and this hand plays differently enough to not even speculate on the subsequent play.... [/ QUOTE ] fyp What do you want to do on the turn? Bet/call? Preflop? 3-bet? |

Re: Back to limit, sanity check plz
Hand 1 looks ok. I don't think you're good that often but OMG POT SO HUGE.
Hand 2 c/r the FLOP, not the TURN. Hand 3 I don't raise preflop, as I'd rather be able to raise postflop more often when I hit a pair. |

Because no one else raised is he reason I would raise AJ here since chances are you aren't dominated by anything here. I'd be raising AQ in the same spot here as well, even though that comes with all the drawbacks you've mentioned. [/ QUOTE ] There is a significant dropoff in equity between AQo and AJo. I wouldn't even raise KQo here. |

Re: Back to limit, sanity check plz
1: 3-bet preflop. postflop is fine. you have a gutterball on the turn. you have a solid top pair and backdoors on the flop and a maniac capper. no fold.
2: preflop is good, but i think you forgot that equity decreases when you miss on the turn. the flop is the easiest check raise in the history of flopped flush draws. the turn given the flop play is not a raise. 3: uh, limp preflop. i would call the flop and see what happens on the turn. no reason investing this much on the flop on this board. |

Re: Back to limit, sanity check plz
Hand 1 looks fine. I like the flop raise even though it doesn't protect you against much simply because the pot is getting very large and the raise gives you a better chance to win it. It is possible to induce an opponent into making a mistake by folding.
Hand 2 I'm checkraising the flop almost every time. I am not wild about the turn check-raise, I see it is for value assuming that you get called in every spot, that no one has the suited Ad hand and that you won't chop or lose if you do hit your str8. Given these possibilities I probably just call the turn. Hand 3, if I thought MP1 was the type to bet-3bet the flush/str8 draw on the flop, which is pretty common, I'd pop the turn on him, other than that I might play it the same. Capping the flop is fine too. Hand is interesting because I think you have a couple of options on almost every street. |

Re: Back to limit, sanity check plz
H1 preflop I never cc with AQs oop. Raise or fold depending on table read on early raiser. likely I raise. CC i can't put anyone on anything other than vaguely having a good hand. Because I CC I didn't know until it was too late that the most likely holding of mp2 was AK.
H2 is just a bad drawing hand in the sb what could you possibly hope to hit on the flop to make any justification to calling the BB bet with 3 callers? A 9 4 of diamonds? Anything else? KKK? KK7? |

Re: Back to limit, sanity check plz
Haha, yeah I've been playing way "beneath" my roll for at least the last 8 months. I mostly play for the "hobby" aspect of it. I moved up to 2/4 and put in a little over 10K hands there for a whopping +1BB/100, then I finally decided I should learn NL and of course started at a low limit there. (good thing too, boy did I suck at first went through 12 buy'ins in 2K hands like it was candy)
As for the preflop raise with AJo on teh button, anytime I read SSHE it makes me way more aggressive preflop. I run at a pretty weak/tight 17/6 normally but after some SSHE encouragement I usually do like 17/8. Basically AJo is a "top pair, good kicker" sort of hand which is tough to stand up multiway however I figured they all have limped with junk and my hand is probably best out currently and even though my edge is small, I can punish them for limping with trash by forcing them to double their investment (plus I have the button which makes my hand better). |
