Re: \"Trip EV\"

[ QUOTE ] Figure out your overall edge and multiply it by how many hands you expect to play and how much you are betting?? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, this question is a little harder when you vary your bets by the deck count. But anybody who keeps their bet constant and uses the term "trip-EV" either don't know that EV is linear or don't know how to multiply. -Sam [/ QUOTE ] Thanks Sam. I know how to multiply. What I didn't know was what "Trip EV" was. Do you want to explaine for me? |

Re: \"Trip EV\"
1. Multiply your betting amounts (if they change) by your "edge" (which is negative) for each hand.
2. Add them up. If you bet the same amount each time, just multiply your "edge" by the betting amount and the number of hands you want to play. 3. Add the bonus. |

I know how to calculate the SD but I hadn't heard the term "Trip EV" before so wasnt sure what it should be. When I use the formula you suggest for EV my RoR calculations are out so I'm wondering what else it could be ?? Thanks |

Before I embarrass myself further, I'll just recommend you to this site, which has some information from people who actually know what they're talking about.
(Please ignore my previous post. Hopefully Bruce will delete it. ) |

Re: \"Trip EV\"
Yes, but incorrect. My EV discussion only takes into account how much we win each hand, not how much we lose.
The only portion is think would be helpful is that if you know the Trip SD, [ QUOTE ] You can then use the rough guideline that ~68% of your sessions will have a result within 1 SD, ~95% within 2 SD, and ~99% within 3 SD. [/ QUOTE ] |
