$11 speed :Mid Pocket Pair UTG
This is a really basic question, but I have no idea what to do with these mid pocket pairs UTG at this point in the tournament. I have ~8 BBs so if I raise it prolly has to be all in. Pushing UTG doesn't seem that great to me because I am prolly not getting called by any hands that I am beating by a lot. At best it would be a coin flip type situation. And with so many people acting after me it seems like a bad idea. However, I normally like 77 so it seems weird to fold it.

Re: $11 speed :Mid Pocket Pair UTG
i would fold utg. i think in this situation the reward of the 300 in blinds isn't enough to risk going broke for UTG. is this a leak?

Re: $11 speed :Mid Pocket Pair UTG
This is close, but I push here. You are +EV as long as the ranges of all villians are reasonable. Also, this is a spot where I don't mind a race as blinds goig to 200/400 will kill me and there are so many players left.

Re: $11 speed :Mid Pocket Pair UTG
cEV still ~= $EV at this stage...I definitely push.
edit: Did a little SNGPT analysis...if we give each of the players the same range then no matter what we set them on, pushing is at least +0.0%. Obviously this is a VERY rough estimate but it just confirms my intuition that we have to push here. If pushing is wrong, then it isn't very wrong. |
