Flop play
I am unsure if my play on the flop was correct. Any feedback is appreciated.

Re: Flop play
Yeah, I think it's good. It's a nice flop for 88 and I don't think you can really expect UTG+1's check/raise on that board.
Turn is kind of uncomfortable with MP1 waking up (since 89 owns you), but I don't really mind the cap. It's going to be two pair often. I wouldn't go crazy on the river, but that was impossible anyway with MP1's stack. |

Re: Flop play
You prob shouldn't raise that river donkbet, but villain was stacking off so you didn't have to worry about a 3-bet.

Re: Flop play
what a crazy hand...
i like the flop raise. you wont get many better flops than this with 88. after that im lost. the c-r-3-bet from UTG+1 represents something big, i would have to think a set. but he could be doing it with an overpair. either way you have to call his 3-bet. when MP1 donks the turn after calling 3 cold on the flop you have to be worried. i still like your first raise on the turn, but i would call down from there. im not too sure at all about this hand. i would go. raise/call the flop. raise/call the turn. call the river. |

Re: Flop play
thought your raise was a very good play...your gut shot has equity here with 16 small bets in...with 8 players in, you will get callers, so it a good value bet to continue to build the pot size, although it is a longshot

Re: Flop play
Love the aggression! I'd probably play it the same except just call the river, although with his stack size I might do just as you did and put him all in since I do have a nice hand in a big pot, why not break him if I have him beat?

Re: Flop play
*Grunch*
I do the same thing on the flop. My guess is that UTG+1 has a high PP, so you know you need to improve, and this flop is worth calling to the turn. MP1 has suddenly come alive on the turn. After his 3-bet, I'm taking a serious re-evaluation. He's acting like he has a straight too, or maybe even two-pair with him holding a 6-5 (can't put that beyond the donks). I don't think you're seeing a 2-3 here most of the time though. Heck, you might even see a fullhouse, considering the ability of players at these penny tables. I think you're going to split or lose the pot a good amount of the time, so just calldown. |

You played this exactly right as close as I can tell. |

Re: Flop play
The turn cap shows a pretty fundimental misunderstanding of pot equity. Why the forum advocates it is beyond me.
The river raise is pretty bad. |

Re: Flop play
looks fine, but if MP1 weren't going all in on the river, I wouldn't have raised.
