The only thing that really beats you here is AA. The way he played it he could easily have that, and if he does, so what. Cap the river.

i called his 3 bet and he shows me his aces.
my thoughts were: he put me on a nine and would have folded overs. so i gave him credit for an overpair. bet/3 bet it must be aces. he cant know that calling down with aces vs my range for a CR on this flop is too weak. so i am at least a little lucky he doesnt go to war with me (but i know he was a huge dog from the the flop til the river). i thought a little about preflop, too. i felt a little frisky and in the first hand there is really no reason to "mix it up" or fight against a habitual stealer, but i still think i will gain at least some folding equity when we both miss the flop. what i meant with "i know i have to hit" is that one pair on a broadway board isnt enough to continue after he caps preflop. thanks for your answers. |
