Default Dealer\'s Choice

I play in a cash game a couple of times a week. We offer the dealers choice option, we play 7stud, omaha, and hold 'em varations per round, which means we play with blinds and everyone gets to deal it. I am wondering though, we have people selecting the crazy games such as 69burn and GUT. What is the craziest game like this you have played?

We had a guy call California(THIS GAME SUCKS AND TAKES AWAY ALL SKILL) you get a 5 card hand(can only play 1 2card combination of the 5 to make a hand) there are 5, yes 5 betting rounds in which the dealer turns over a community card, the middle card is called the splitter, therefore if you have the middle card same suit 1 higher you get half the pot. OMG THEY PLAY THIS GAME EITHER PL OR NL.

I find these no skill games really loosen up the table(which I like alot), any found that as well?

I'm a big fan of dealer's choice, and at low stakes it can really be a lot of fun. You are right it removes more skill and that's why I'd never risk a lot on it. These are a few of my favorites:
Drunk Omaha (may use any or all of your 4 hole cards)
Drunk Cincinatti (like Omaha, board cards turn 1 at a time)
Anaconda, Murder, Follow the Queen, Wheel of Fortune... Games Games Games

Follow the queen is a favorite.

I like playing Omaha 8 with my dad's buddies because they can't quite figure out the "2 and only 2" rule, so it always takes them 30 seconds after the hand's over to declare a winner. I figure if they don't get the rules I have a decent edge.

We play a NLHE tourney and a LHE Cash game every week at my house. But once every few weeks, we play the Old Folks Game. It's really a social family game with my wife's grandparents, and occasionally another family member or two, and it's Dealer's Choice. True, the skill goes out the window, to some extent, but it can be fun nonetheless.

We play Follow the Queen, F Your Neighbbor (called Stick Your Neighbor in our game, as a courtesy to the elders present), Black Maria, No Peekie, In or Out, and of course 5 Card Draw and 7 Card Stud with wild cards.

It's a fun change of pace to our Hold Em games, but it can be frustrating to have a natural Boat busted by four-of-a-kind made up with two wild cards!

I cut it off with, "If they spread it in a casino or online, you can call it here."

I'm a nit though.

We do a dealer's choice game now and then, but we're not quite as restrictive. We just limit it to poker, meaning five-card hands.

Some players absolutely have a conniption when there are wild cards. They'll call (or make up) the wackiest games simply out of protest for a while, then calm down when they realize they're hemmoraging money.

Personally, I think such games are a lot of fun. They do loosen up the table, and help some folks take poker a little less seriously. While the other players are getting loose, crazy, or angry, I'll quietly call games in which I think I have the greatest advantage.

For me, any poker night that's both enjoyable, and pays for the beer I drink while playing, is a great one.

We created a little game named \'Pimp my Hold\'em\' (short: Pimp\'em). Everybody gets two Hoecards facedown and a Pimpcard which you have to put on your forehead. You can\'t see your own Pimpcard, but you can see the Pimpcards of the others. - Betting Round - 2 Community Cards - Betting Round - 1 Community Card - Betting Round - 1 Community Card - Betting Round - Showdown!

You use the Hoecarding (=> Lowcarding) to determine the button.

I get that your hold'em version has 3 hole cards and 4 shared board cards, but what is this random button position thing again?

My fave.....clusterf**k
Follow the bi*ch and bi*ches baseball.

3s, 9s, queens wild, and the card following an up queen wild. 4s buys another card.
Potentially 16 wild cards in the deck and hands can potentially be more than 7 cards.
Sometimes combined with black mariah where the queen of spades up is a redeal for those still in.

Best played while drunk. Best hand is frequently 5 of a kind.

Best strategy, if you do not have at least 3 wild cards by 5th street, fold.
