Wanted: A *LOW* resolution LCD monitor
Short Version: Are there any LCD monitors that provide a maximum resolution of 800 x 600?
Hi, I currently 10-table the Party Speed SNGs on two CRT monitors - one set to 1600 x 1200 resolution, and one set to 800 x 600 resolution. The high-res monitor shows the 9 non-active tables, and the low-res monitor shows the active table (moved by MTH). I'm keen to upgrade this setup to LCD - I like having the active table larger than the rest. Are there any cheap LCD monitors that support a 800 x 600 resolution? (While a 1280 x 1024 monitor can theoretically do this, I don't want the blurring that comes with this) I know that a 1600x1200 resolution LCD screen can do 800 x 600 (4:1 pixel ratio), but I'd rather spend as little money as possible on this. |

Re: Wanted: A *LOW* resolution LCD monitor
I don't think you'll find a decent sized LCD that maxes out at 800x600. Even the 15" monitors do 1024x768.
Not all LCDs act the same btw. I'm running a widescreen 19" LCD (16:9 ratio @ 1440x900) and when I downscale it to 800x600 the text is still sharp enough for it to be 100% acceptable. Granted it's not perfect, but it's by no means horrid. If this is your first venture to LCDs, I'd spend a good long time reading reviews and comparing different models. The difference between certain models cannot be described in words. A lot of the major outlets overprice really trashy LCDs. Expect to pay about $220-250 for a nice 19" (1280x1024) lcd, and closer to $400-500 for a good 20.1" (1600x1200) if you ordered one online. |

Re: Wanted: A *LOW* resolution LCD monitor
some LCD TV's have this as a max resolution, but they typically aren't cheap. Why don't you just buy a bigger CRT?
I don't understand your story though - you say you 10 table, but you only have 1 active table. You mean you have 9 tables in the waiting list or something? |

Shoe Lace - Thanks for the tip. 2001FP it seems to be then.
Kneel - That's it. MTH moves the active table to the left screen. |

I've got one here, but it's very old - made in 1998 according to the label on the back. It's a Mermaid APT121T, might be worth a search to see if there are any used ones for sale.
