Re: *Red Sox thread* News, views, and love for the front office
I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst this year. Toronto is so much stronger than last year, even the D Rays are better than before, and the Evil ones totally reloaded.
The health of our pitching staff, as it usually is for most teams, is hugely crucial. If Beckett can avoid the whole blister situation and Schilling stays on track, we'll be right there. If not, I dunno... After five days, I really think I'm going to like Coco Crisp a lot. And I also think Wily Mo is going to do some things. |

[/ QUOTE ] I think your assessment of expecting the worst is an acceptable view to have, but after Schillings performance against a stacked offense I would think you would be more optimistic. Granted its only one game, but he is the key to the season I think. Toronto's improvement is vastly overrated and the NYY staff issues are vastly underrated IMO. Sure the Yankees can rake, but what matters is the difference in runs scored vs allowed. There is just too much optimism considering the hurlers after the front two. Also overlooked is the fact that the Red Sox APPEAR to have more depth/mid season flexibility. |
