Two seperate things. First, there is records for one season, i.e. 49 TD passes

Also there are time based records if you will, such as, most TD passes thru 7.5 games or most TD passes in 3 minutes...

my point is it doesnt matter if Brady has 48 thru 15 games then throws 2 in week 17, or if he has 0 thru 15 games and throws 50 TD passes in 1 game....regardless, its the record for TD passes in one season.
