It\'s ok to profile jellybeans
I recently went to a convention where a law firm passed out little packets of jellybeans celebrating racial diversity. The little note in the packet reads:
[ QUOTE ] This candy is just like people—you cannot determine what is on the inside by simply looking at the outside. Diversity Jellybeans remind us to experience people one at a time and enjoy their unique qualities. ~iCelebrateDiversity.com [/ QUOTE ] The packet contains 6 jellybeans: red, yellow, green, black, white and orange. I think to myself, “Hmm, this is clever. I guess if I want to avoid eating a licorice-flavored jellybean, which I hate with a passion, I should just start with the black one." So I did. Result: black jellybeans really are always licorice. |
