Re: free will and god poll
[ QUOTE ]
I experience free will very directly and when I do as Descartes did and not make any assumptions about anything. I disregard everything and start with what can I know? Well the only thing I know is that I have original control over images and thoughts in my mind. Granted, that could be an illusion. But it could only be an illusion in the way that everything is an illusion, its not provable or unprovable. [/ QUOTE ] yes. i think this is what it comes down to. do i have free will? well, yes, relative to the world i percieve. what about if my perception is wrong or isn't complete? (i percieve logical and physical evidence that this is so, which is a paradox) well, there is no evidence that the world exists apart from "my" perception. to me, this seems consistent with the idea that consciousness creates the world, rather than vice versa. |
