Brand new to the site and the game...stupid questions

I've just started playing Hold 'em in the last few weeks and I played my first money sng last night. I have two questions (probably the first of many). 1. I see where people post their hand histories to get help with their game. I would love to do that with the SNG I played last night, how do I convert it to something this board can use?

2. I see everyone talking about using software on some of the different sites. What do these programs do for you, and do the sites themselves consider them unethical?
