Default having trouble playing these types of hands on a 10-11BB stack

Scenario: Mid-stages (50-100 or 60-120) you are on the cutoff or button. You have a 10-11BB stack.

I am deep enough to not push but small enough that raising will cost a good chunk of my stack. If I get called and miss completely, do I gamble and shove if checked to? Do i c-bet and commit myself?

What if I limp preflop instead? Isn't that a bit too weak-tight? If someone raises, can I really cold call?

Please provide some thoughts on how u guys play these hands.
