Q\'s, 400BB deep at $5-10
I have about 400 big blinds and everyone else in the hand has me covered. The game is pretty loose and standard opening raises from early position are about $40-%60. I have played w/ most of these players quite often and they surely think I'm pretty tight and solid.
Two limpers and I raise to $55 w/ two black Q's. Two players call behind me. One is pretty tight and straight forward. The blinds decide to take the flop as do the 2 limpers. The flop is As,5s,9d and it's checked to me. I check too. The turn is 2s and it's checked to me again. I check again as do the others. River is Ad and checked to me a 3rd time. My first instinct is to bet perhaps $100 because I'm 80% sure my hand is best, but then quickly decide to check because I don't see a worse hand calling. I'm not entirely sure that I played the hand properly. I feel like I misplayed the hand somehow and think I should have bet the turn...or should I have bet the river? Was there any sense doing so? I won the pot and the straight forward player had J,J and one early limper had a 10. That's probably all I could have hoped to call me if I had bet and I couldn't put anyone on either of those 2 hands. |
