I kept in your caps. That was good. But if the total prize pool was $1,000 and there were 700 players then total buyin value is approx. $1.50
So you won 53 + 1.50 for $54.50. Assuming the prize pool was $4,500 in the freeroll rebuy and first would get say 20% you should have won $900. These numbers will allow you to do proper research. You should have won $900 not %54.50. I have a feeling the rebuys were $.05 or .10 and not $.50 or a $1.00 and hence the $54.50 return.
