Table is generally loose-passive. I’m playing at 16/12/3 over 300 hands (probably doesn’t mean anything for this hand; I’m just happy that I’m finally able to show aggressive stats)
UTG ($9.60 in chips) UTG+1 ($17.05 in chips) MP1 ($11 in chips) MP2 ($23.55 in chips) HJ ($24.50 in chips) CO ($109.65 in chips) BU ($43 in chips) SB ($10 in chips) Hero ($34.85 in chips) Hero is BB with 5s Ks Two folds, MP1 calls $0.25, three folds, BU calls $0.25, SB completes, Hero checks Flop ($1) Kh 9h 3h SB checks, Hero??? So, we have two three limpers, and it’s very likely that I have the best hand right now. But if I bet, no one with a K, 9, 3, PP or reasonably high heart will fold, as the table is very loose-passive, and my hand is vulnerable to a whole bunch of turn cards. OTOH, if I don’t bet, there is ~100% chance that someone with a K, 9, 3, PP or reasonably high heart will bet, and I’d rather not get involved at that point. So my default here is to c-f. But when I do, I feel that a real player would be able to make money here, and that I’m really just a weak-tight fish pretending to be a TAG. OK, this isn’t such a big hand, but these situations come up a lot, and I have a suspicion that they add up to a lot of value that I’m losing. |
