Upgrading my desktop
Hi,
I'm getting increasingly frustrated by the speed of my comp. The main problem comes from switching between open applications, this can cause things to freeze for a moment and the screen will change to the new application in a slow "vertical-wipe". To me the first thing that this says is I should get more RAM, is this a reasonable assumption? Currently running a 9 month old Dell 2.79GHz, 1GB RAM, 107gb HDD (only 3gb free at the moment, although this figure goes up and down and doesn't seem to help), with two 1600x1200 monitors on a Radion X1300 gfx card. Running XP . I usually have a poker app, firefox, winamp/media player running. (no poker tracker at the moment). I'm sure I've left out some information. :-/ any tips? |
