Default Strategy for moving up in limits

I bet this has been posted before in some form or another, but I've been trying something lately as I'm moving from 25nl to 50nl and it's working well. Instead of thinking about moving up to 50nl slowly by having one or two of the 6 tables I play be nl50, I've decided to buy in for around 1/20 of my roll at the nl50 level.

It's worked for me for several reasons. I don't tilt when I lose a buy in because I'm not technically under-rolled for what I just lost. I learn the nl50 game while making the final touches to my desired $1000+ roll. I get to play with a variety of stack sizes which helps my thinking when playing in donkaments. Finally, I get more FPP's playing at the higher level -- Nintendo Wii here I come!

Anyone else tried this?

If so, why didn't anyone suggest it when I posted about strategy for moving up earlier this month.

Peace.
