Tell me about your experiences with Chavs

Probably only applies to people in the UK.

Some recently-made friends of mine just moved here from England and cited these people as a main reason for their move. The impression I was given is that they're basically kid thugs who like stabbing people at random, and they're taking over the cities.

Any interesting stories or corrections about these people? Are my fog-breathing limey friends exaggerating?
