If you don't want to do it for whatever reason, that is completely your choice. For some people it is too much work for them to keep track of making the monthly payments, for you, apparently free money is embarrasing and lowers your self-esteem. There are many reasons to do or not do this. I just don't understand what you think is embarassing about it. There is nothing wrong, illegal, immoral, or demeaning about doing this. There are also many threads in this forum from supporters of this method -- they just don't buy stocks like I do with the proceeds.

As for embarrassing, I have seen people do some very embarrassing things for a lot less than $2500.
