A section on starting hands
a) flush draws - Ah7h6s5d better than Kh7h6s5d because ace high flush is more likely to be nuts and therefore easier to play. b) straight draws- jt98>jt97>j987 because ungapped hands have more nut straight outs and more likely to have redraws to the nuts. c) Pairs in hand- Pairs less than JJ often should be played only with good side cards. This is because the lower the pair, the higher the likelihood that a set flopped by the pair will face set over set scenarios. Regarding side cards, TT97 ss is a very good hand to play from almost any position. TT52 ss on the hand is a very weak holding that should almost never be played in a full ring game. |
