Failing a subject is +EV?
So I'm in my 3rd year of uni. To graduate I need to pass 24 subjects. I've passed 19, and I'm doing 3 this semester, so assuming I pass the 3 subjects I'm doing, that leaves 2 subjects to do next year.
Now my predicament is this. If I do 3 subjects next year, I continue to receive Youth allowance, which is $350 a fortnight untill the end of next July. If I only do 2 subjects, the course is classified as part time and the youth allowance would be cut off in November. It costs me $800 to enroll for a subject. This means that I would receive about $4100 extra for failing a subject this semester and being "full time" at uni next year. My lifestyle would not change a bit regardless of what choice I make. I'm currently a winning player in 2/4nl and 1/2nl and 10/20 limit with a comfy but not overly huge bankroll. I have no debts but I wouldn't mind the "safety net" of having a steady income stream for when I have a bad couple of months. What would you guys do in my situation? |
