Default Lending Institutions - Help

I am looking to take advantage of the tank in the overall real estate market and the lending institutions that have been lending at sub prime rates to people that can't afford the houses they were buying.

Alot of these stocks are close to rock bottom and if trends go as predicted, Jan-Feb would be a prime time to get in to take advantage of the upswing the real estate market is expecting (more like a leveling) in mid June-July.

I have heard that I should stay away from the big guys like Countrywide and Wells due to interest expressed by BH?

What companies should I focus on when I put a small fortune into this hopefully exponentially powerful market in Jan?

BTW, this is my 1st post in investing hope it is worthy.
