Re: Quick Game: Help Nich come up with good idea
[ QUOTE ]
Ivy League schools use standardized tests? Or is it just an initial filter? I always assumed they invite you and test you on various topics for a couple of days. [/ QUOTE ] Pretty sure nobody invites you on campus and tests you themselves for undergrad - that's the whole point of the standardized tests; they test you for the colleges. There's an application process and they look at more than grades and test scores, but most schools have some sort of minimums. I know that the state schools here in Texas (at least back when I was applying) would take your class rank and assign a minimum test score to that. So if you were top 1/4th of your class, you could have a lower test score than if you were in the 3rd quartile, etc. But it was all still just a minimum requirement and not a guarantee of admission. I think some of the more advanced colleges required Achievement Test scores as well (on at least 3 different subjects). More standardized tests, but topic specific (English, Chemistry, etc etc) |
