Well it obviously depends on the teams playing. Detroit vs. Edmonton I wouldn't call a coinflip on who will score first. So no I don't think that would be a truer representation of a coin flip.

edit: also people are taking this coinflip thing out of proportion. i.e. when I take an under 1.5 +140 I probably don't think it is 50% to win, but when I average all my plays for the year I will be around the 50% mark.
