Default Farf\'s Crossfit(+general health) log

I have made the decision to start the Crossfit program as part of my goal to be generally healthier.

There are several reasons why I chose Crossfit over other programs:

1) I used to be a muscle-head and purely lifted heavy weights. I hated my bulky look and clothes never fit right. I got more women when I started getting out of shape than when I was muscular. Crossfit seems like a great way to be strong in the ways I want but still look trim and fit.

2) I like the variety.

3) I have confidence that the program will bring me results. To be honest I think weightlifting has passed me by. Back when I lifted I had a lot of confidence in the program I used. Looking through this forum and the internet I could not find a routine I could put my faith in. Now everyone has these goofy programs and these crazy diets.

4) Simplicity

Start stats:

Age: 25
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 200

I don't really have a fitness goal as of yet besides having a general decrease in weight while having an increase in my cardiovascular ability.

Along with my general strength and conditioning goals I have some general health goals:

1)Quitting Smoking

I am going on three days without having a cigarette. This is really tough. I about put my fist through the wall at some very minor annoyances. My thoughts have been generally very disorganized and I have a constant uncomfortable feeling. I hope this passes soon

2) Eating right

I'm pretty much just winging it on my diet. I don't have a set plan just a general goal to stop eating so much pizza and fried food while eating much more fruits and veggies. I think a solid start goal is two salads a week. I think a diet is pretty worthless if you can't stick to it over the lond run so flexibility and tolerability is very important.

I start tomorrow with five sets of:

50 squats
100 jump ropes
