Calling the U.S. from Europe

Tomorrow I head off to Europe for a week and haven't figured out how I'll call the U.S.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a calling card, or some some other method? I will not have my computer, so services like Skype are out. I will have a telephone in my room that does not allow overseas calls (unless going through an operator, etc, which would probably be very expensive).

I've searched online and there are a million calling cards available, but some of them seem shady. Any help appreciated.
