Default 25/50 live game what\'s the play here vs old wise type

$25/50 6-handed live game last night at casino. I sat with $5K, a big fish who wasn't in the following hand had $4K, 3 regular-ish old guys each with $9K, and 1 guy in a suit who looked 'corporate' sitting with $12K. 10 hands into the session I hadn't made it to flop. Anyway onto the hand..

I was in CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
2 folds, I make it $250 to go, old regular in button called. SB fish folds and BB the big stack guy in a suit called.

With a $775 pot flop came T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] giving me a huge draw. BB bet $600, I called and old guy on the button looked at both of us and took a long time then made it $2,100. BB insta folded. I got a huge draw with possibility of a spade on the turn to make it even bigger plus top pairs if K or Q falls. Being kinda new to the high stakes game I took my time thinking and looking at the old guy. He said "look, I know you haven't got it, just lay it down and let's move on". What's he trying to say here? I said "well what do you think I have, let's hear it". He said nothing and I pondered another minute, and he said "OK we're waiting, you gonna call or not? Show me what you're made of."

My instinct tells me to shove on him right here, leaving him with $2,500 more to call. What's your take on this situation?
