Week 2 NFL Power Rankings
LINK TO LAST WEEK
Tier #1: The big Two Can't see much argument that these two teams deserve their own tier. 1. NE 2. Indy Tier #2: The legit contenders While Denver hasn't outscored their opponents by much, I believe that to be a result of fluky red zone woes. Take a look at their offensive and defensive yardage numbers. Pit leaps Chicago due to looking more impressive. SD drops down a tier. Everything else is fairly similar to last week. Dallas moves up a tier. 3. SD 4. Pit 5. Chicago 6. Baltimore 7. Denver 8. Dallas Tier #3: The wannabe contenders Make it official: I'm drinking the Houston Texans kool aid. Them and Washington make a big leap due to their impressive road wins. I realize Tennesee lost but they looked impressive nevertheless, and their jump up 2 spots has more to do with Cincy, Seattle, N.O., and Carolina losing than them winning. Detroit may be a bit high...we'll find out in week 3 when they go to Philly. 9. Houston 10. Washington 11. Tennessee 12. Seattle 13. Green Bay 14. Detroit 15. Carolina 16. Cincy Tier #4: Middle of the Pack Like always, this tier is very muddled and the teams are pretty much interchangable for now. Tampa and Cleveland both make big leaps due to their impressive victories. The Jets may be 0-2, but they lost to NE and at Baltimore- hard to fault them for that. 17. San Francisco 18. Arizona 19. Jets 20. Minnesota 21. Philly 22. Tampa Bay 23. Jacksonville 24. Cleveland 25. St Louis 26. Buffalo 27. KC Tier #5: The bottom feeders I realize that putting N.O. this low is a huge drop, but they really don't deserve any better based upon how they've played so far. Just horrible both weeks. 28. N.O. 29. Oakland 30. NYG 31. Miami 32. Atl |
