Deathproof
Just been released here (England) as an independent feature film rather than going under the Grindhouse banner, so forgive me if this thread has been done before.
I absolutely loved it - Stuntman Mike has gone down as one of my favourite Tarantino characters behind Jules, and Madsen's two characters. I loved the whole scene with Mike observing his prey in the bar and watching him change into this great psychopath in the car. Then the deaths of the first 5 girls absolutely blew me away - that crash was simply amazing, my jaw was on the floor. A fair few people in the theatre hated it mainly because 'OMG it looks soo old' and 'FFS this projectionist is useless!!!' and a few of my friends thought the dialogue-driven scenes dragged, but this is all part of the fun of a Tarantino movie for me. |
