Joey Harrington
Yes, he's been a washout so far as an NFL QB. I believe that the critics are taking it too far, making it personal. Who did this guy kill? He didn't win games for the Detroit Lions. If Joey doesn't deserve to live, what does Matt Millen deserve?
Harrington was a great college qb: 4th in Heisman voting, big senior bowl win, etc. Jim Plunkett also looked like a washout at similar times in their careers. Plunkett was a joke in the late 70s, just like Harrington is now. Plunkett was mishandled at NE and SF. Also bad teams. Still congruent. Plunkett had raw physical skills that Harrington doesn't have, but nobody was talking about Plunkett's skills when SF gave up on him. He was a joke. Remember that Heisman trophy winner? haha Maybe there's a second act for Harrington. Maybe there's not. I just don't like the bandwagon negativity about this guy's ability that you see everywhere. |
