I've been racking my brain trying to remember some examples and all I can think of is when you miss a blind you get a missed blind button and have to post both blinds with the SB being dead if you want to get back in. I think you are confused. There was a time when you had to make up missed collections (when there were collections on the button) when you posted the big blind. Back then if you missed everything you just came in with the big blind, but if you played the blind and then missed the collection you had to make up the collection whenever you came in even if you waited for the blind. I cleared out the management when I stated "that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard" after they left the DC told me it was dictated by the city and that I should not tell the management of the casino that they have dumb rules.
