the fact that you want to go somewhere far off = you want to go somewhere you won't have a good job lined up and you won't know anybody, so it'll take a couple weeks to even get situated, and by then your summer is practically half over.
i'm telling you, road trip is the way to go. you have all year to save up for it, and you can do it super cheap if you have a reliable car and don't mind sleeping in it or camping out / staying with friends. you will see way more of the country and it will be much more memorable. i went on a short cross-country trip when i was 23 - just two weeks to get from NYC to NC to CA and back - and even that was awesome. everyone talks about doing something like that when they are 18 but never do, i wish i had actually done it when i had all that free time and didn't have to worry about anything. |
