44 from the SB

Hi, I'm trying to find mistakes in my game and I recently ran into this hand. After reviewing the hand I'm not sure if I played it right. Stats on my opponent are as follows: 29/10 out of 154 hands. I think my biggest mistake was folding on the river. At the time I felt that there was no way I wasn't beat and I was saving myself a bet. After reviewing the hand though I feel like I should have at least called because of the size of the pot. I'm not a very good player and am trying to improve my game. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Also note that although it says it was 6-handed it was at a full ring table. 3 people had just left simultaneously.
