Default A lot of beats, and something that might be a beat or a brag.

When I signed for my student loans a few years back, I used my parents home phone number as the reference point. This last month I failed to pay my bill on time, so my parents were called even though they have nothing to do with the loan. They both know that I've made all of my money from poker in the last year and a half, but they still came over and woke me up while I was hung over this morning.

I had the unpleasant convo with my parents asking me if I owed anybody money, to which I gave the honest response of I owe my roomate 500$ for rent right now, but this isn't a big deal as I'm owed WAY more money from other people.

In retrospect, it was a mistake to admit that I owe money, and the questions they asked after this made it clear that they think I have a gambling problem (I don't, and it's not even close). I've played BJ maybe 4 times in my life, and maybe 20 bucks in slots for [censored] and giggles, but other then that I've only played poker which I haven't had to deposit money into for 2 years.

Well the parents were still worried about me, because they got the call from the loan company, so they're now paying off all of my student debt (huge [censored] ing brag), but the draw back is that now I know my parents think I have a gambling problem (huge [censored] ing beat) which I don't. If I have a problem at all, it's that I don't play enough as I'm a long time winner.

cliff notes: beat: parents think I've gambled all my money away when this isn't true.
