Default headphone jack problems (dell 9300)

I got a Dell Inspiron 9300, and the headphone jack is starting to play up, i can get perfect sound through headphones, however when i remove the headphones the internal speakers don't engage.

I am 100% sure this is a faulty hardware problem, as i can get sound through the internal speakers if i play with the jack, however this isn't permanent, it seems as though the hardware doesn't recognize that the headphones have been removed.

I was just wondering if there is a way i can disable the headphone jack by itself (through device manager or such) so that the sound will play through the internal speakers?

Any help is appreciated
