Okay to play poker on laptop at school?

So, I'm bringing my laptop to school most days and I want to know if it'll be safe to play poker over the wireless network on campus. To use their wireless, you have to log on, but after that I don't think you have to do anything else. I'm pretty sure the likelihood of intercepting my packets and decoding what cards I have and such are rare, but I'm more worried about whether or not a hacker can get my passwords and stuff for my poker sites.

Any advice?
