Default If you spend a lot of time playing poker...

...what do you do to allow you to have things to talk about with others?

Since I started playing poker seriously, I find myself having less and less to talk about with friends and people in general.

Itīs pretty well accepted that telling people about poker is -EV, but how do you overcome problem spots like "so i did this and that all week, what have you been up to?".

If you tell them youīve been playing a lot of poker, they think degen, gambler, loser, etc.

If you only tell them what you got up to in the few hours that you were not playing, then they think all you do is laze around all day.

do you guys just force yourselves to take an interest in general things that appeal to everyone like politics, headline news, a particular soccer team, etc?

Otherwise, itīs pretty tough to have a random conversation that lasts more than 10 mins. Anyone else experienced this?
