UTG calls $0.30, <font color="red">MP raises to $1.60</font>, CO calls $1.60, BTN folds, Hero calls $1.45, 2 folds

Flop: ($5.40) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $3.00</font>, <font color="red">MP raises to $14.40</font>, CO folds, <font color="green">Hero folds</font>

Pot Size: $22.80

I only had about 11 hands with villain at this point. I don't know why but when he raised preflop I automatically was thinking he has AA or KK (gut feeling). Which makes me not 3betting preflop to find out where I was at worse I guess. Thoughts please.
